Introducing our Prelude Show Judges for 2017....

Francesca C Browning (South Africa)

I am a ‘second generation breeder’, exhibitor and judge. My kennel name under the prefix of Braganza is over 50 years old. My late mother April Browning founded it in 1948. Both my late parents were all-breed judges.

My sister, Jackie Browning and I are partners in breeding and showing Poodles (Standards and miniatures) and also English Cocker Spaniels. We have also bred and championed Miniature Schnauzers.

Together, we have bred over 200 champions and have campaigned and owned the 1999 Dog of the Year Ch and Int Ch Sarbraes Trelarken Odin (white Standard Poodle). We have bred and campaigned the most winning English Cocker Spaniel ever and are the breed record holder in Miniature Poodles.

Glen Vernon (Australia)

Born August 1963, National Business Manager (Retired).

My involvement in pedigree dogs started with my parents both exhibiting British Bulldogs and Keeshonds. I have been involved with pedigree dogs myself since 1973 when I purchased my first Labrador Retriever. Since then my Labradors have been extremely successful winning well over 400 Best Exhibit in Show awards including Labrador Club shows in many states of Australia. My current Labrador Tommy is Australia’s No1 Labrador and No1 Dog All Breeds in NSW. I have also for many years successfully exhibited Dalmatians. My Dalmatians have won many major awards including in excess of 600 Best in Show wins.

I have also been lucky enough to represent Australia twice at the Eukanuba World Championships held in Florida USA.

Other breeds I have owned and won Best In Show with include Pointers, Dobermans, Boston Terriers and Siberian Huskies. As a handler/owner I have always had one important criteria, that being, I must love and own the dog I exhibit. While exhibiting is very important, I have to say spending time with my dogs and enjoying their company is something I really cherish.

I commenced judging dogs in 1989. I have awarded CCs for Labradors in England and have judged in many countries around the world including the UK, Japan, Indonesia, Canada, Sweden, Philippines, China and New Zealand. Within the next 12 months I am contracted to judge in both South America and the USA. I am licensed to judge Allbreeds by the ANKC. I am also a credited assessor for all groups I am licensed for. I have both assessed and lectured on correct assessment procedure for Dogsnsw.

I have had much experience in running shows and canine affairs while in the positions of President, Secretary The Lake District Canine Club in Newcastle.

Annabel Gunn (South Australia)

I have been involved in the dog world for approximately 40 years with my late mother Betty Hart. We started with Cairn Terriers and West Highland White Terriers and exhibited under our prefix, Skyeway.

Whippets then became my first love, firstly with my mother, then with my husband Jon. We have exhibited our Skyeway progeny quite successfully recording a number of Best in Show wins, particularly at breed specialty shows with Whippets and Cairn Terriers.

Almost 10 years ago, our family fell in love with Chihuahuas. I now own and am completely besotted with this amazing breed. These beautiful creatures are now the love of my husband’s and my lives. In that time we have forged close bonds with Kylie Tilley (nee Sunman), working in with Voncronan Chihuahuas. We co-own with Kylie a number of both Smooth and Long Coat Chihuahuas including Supreme Champion Voncronan Diamond Thief (Leo). Jon and I have also bred several Skyeway champion Chihuahuas, including Aust. CH Skyeway Master of the Realm and Aust. CH. Skyeway Raising Hope.

Being licensed to judge Groups 1, 2, 3 & 4, I have judged extensively throughout Australia, including judging the Cairn Terrier Specialties in NSW and Vic. I have also visited New Zealand to judge the South Island Whippet Specialty in New Zealand.

At present I am on the South Australian judging Examiner’s Panel, I am a life member of the Terrier Club of SA, and I am a committee member of the Chihuahua Club of South Australia.

I am honoured to be the President of Sunbury Canine Club which is the biggest one day dog show in the southern hemisphere. I am also involved with eight other All Breeds dog clubs on the administration/committee side, in most cases I am the show manager of these clubs.

Jodie Wilshier (Queensland)

I have been involved in showing dogs since 1992 and in that time the most successful breed I have bred, owned and shown are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I breed Cavaliers under the “Cavlamour” prefix with my husband and, up until her passing some years ago, with my mother. Over the years, I have also shown both Papillons and Pugs.
In the 1970s, my mother bred and showed Labradors and I regularly attended shows with her and became a successful junior handler.

I commenced my judging training in 2001 and in 2016 was granted Allbreeds status by the Australian National Kennel Council. Countries that I have judged in include, Australia, New Zealand and Cyprus.

I am currently a Vice President of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Queensland and the Secretary of the Kennel Association of Queensland. I am also an active working member of the Toy Dog Club of Queensland and the Dog of the Year Committee. Just this year, I have been appointed to assist with Working Dog lectures as the assistant group co-ordinator in the judges training scheme.

Glenn Wilshier (Queensland)

I breed Cavaliers under the Cavlamour prefix with my wife and, up until her passing some years ago, with my mother-in-law. Over the years, I have also shown both Papillons, Pugs and, more recently, my daughter’s Dachshund Miniature Smooth Haired.

I commenced my judging training in 2010 and am currently licensed to judge Toys, Terriers, Hounds and the Non-Sporting Group. I also judge Gundogs at open show level.

I am currently the President of the Kennel Association of Queensland and the Toy Dog Club of Queensland. I am also an active working member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Queensland.

Jo Rasche (South Australia)

I have been involved in the Show World since the age of 15. Beginning with Staffordshire Bull Terriers. I have also owned and shown Weimeraners, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and now English Springer Spaniels.

My philosophy with my breeding and also my judging is to look for the qualities within a dog. When I judge, particularly in my own breed, I am looking to award and identify dogs of a quality which I would like to have in my own kennel or breeding program
